Harry and Meghan get a taste of Canada on Commonwealth Day

Harry and Meghan get a taste of Canada on Commonwealth Day

A royal source said, "Amy is leaving".

The duchess was wearing a stunning green outfit by Erdem and, despite being around seven months pregnant, showed no sign of slowing down. However, the then-Meghan Markle shuttered her lifestyle blog "The Tig" and her accompanying Instagram account prior to her wedding.

It's now being reported that Meghan's assistant private secretary, Amy Pickerill, who has often been seen at the duchess' side, is leaving her role at Kensington Palace.

It's believed Amy will leave her post after Meghan and Harry move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor this month.

We know that when they were dating, Prince Harry visited Meghan in Toronto - they made their first public appearance together at the 2017 Invictus Games - although of course they mostly kept other visits under wraps.

This isn't the first time Meghan has had a positive impact on her husband, having encouraged him to take on a healthier lifestyle when their relationship became serious.

Nina Kharey, the founder of Alberta-based clothing line NONIE, once praised Markle for supporting Canadian designers after spotting the Duchess of Sussex in one of her own trench dresses.

Kensington Palace later thanked young Canadians for sharing their traditions, particularly the "spring tradition of making maple taffy", with Markle and Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex's personal secretary, Samantha Cohen, also made the decision to leave the royal household in December previous year, The Times previously reported.

Meghan's remarks come a day after CNN revealed that Britain's royal family has had to bolster its social media operation due to a rise in racist online abuse targeting the Duchess, who married Prince Harry in May. The royal couple were given a tour by Canadian high commissioner Janice Charette, who apparently told them: "We trust that your visit to Canada House today has served as a reminder of happy times spent in Canada".
