FAA grounds 737 MAX, Boeing maintains 'full confidence' in plane

FAA grounds 737 MAX, Boeing maintains 'full confidence' in plane

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement that the decision to ground the aircraft was based on information collected from the Ethiopian Airlines crash site Wednesday as well as "newly refined" satellite information made available today.

"I heard the story of the flights that crashed before I got on the plane to come here", said Eric Speer flying out of Pitt-Greenville Airport alongside Hoppenstein.

The Boeing 737 Max 8 plane is the same as the one involved in the Lion Air crash last October killing 189 persons.

Hong Kong on Wednesday barred Boeing 737 MAX airliners from its airspace, the latest in a series of government bans worldwide in the wake of a deadly plane crash in Ethiopia.

In total, there were at least 11 reports about the Boeing 737 MAX 8 logged on the Aviation Safety Reporting System between April 2018 and December 2018. "I'm happy that they did it, but I wish they would have done it Sunday right after the crash", Hensley said.

The president said that the US worked in conjunction with Canada to make the decision to ground the planes.

Shaw said the cancellation had nothing to do with Wednesday's decision.

PGV's Executive Director Bill Hopper says American Airlines has 24 Max Eights and the airline is working with passengers who may be affected while flights are grounded.

The president said the USA didn't have to ground the planes, but it was important to do so for "psychological" reasons, among other reasons.

In Houston, United Airlines, which has 14 Max jets in their fleet, says they aren't seeing many delays.

"We are doing everything we can to understand the cause of the accidents in partnership with the investigators, deploy safety enhancements and help ensure this does not happen again", the company said.

Those that are now in mid-flight will be suspended from service as soon as they land, Trump said.

Both airlines fly into the Region of Waterloo International Airport, YKF.

"Safety is paramount. So I'm actually pleased that we've taken action and some people might see it as drastic, but sometimes we need drastic changes", Mopress said.

He says that "we have a range of options".

Garneau previously said he had full confidence in the safety of the model and would not hesitate to board one.
