Draymond Green Tweeted His Thoughts On Tom Izzo’s Meltdown Towards Aaron Henry

Draymond Green Tweeted His Thoughts On Tom Izzo’s Meltdown Towards Aaron Henry

Tom Izzo was not happy with the way Michigan State played against Bradley in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, and the longtime coach has faced some criticism for the way he went after freshman Aaron Henry a couple of times during the second half.

Izzo did not apologize after the game, which second-seeded Michigan State won 76-65.

No. 4 Florida State (-4½) over No. 12 Murray State (6:10 PM, TNT): The impact of having the best player on the floor is minimized when playing perhaps the deepest NCAA team in the country.

"I read (the book Season of Life by Jeffrey Marx) cover to cover in about one day because it spoke to what I've always thought as a player, and that was that coaching doesn't need to be screaming and yelling", Roberts said.

Cameras showed an intense exhanged between Michigan State's Tom Izzo and Aaron Henry.

Others also defended Izzo, including ESPN college basketball expert Seth Greenberg.

"I just felt at that moment I could get the message to [Henry] better than coach", Winston said. "Aaron Henry-trust me-did some things that you can't do as a starter on a top-5 team at the end of your freshman year". But that's not good enough.

"This is one-and-done time", Izzo said. "It's all right for a coach to yell at a player".

Tom Izzo is a great coach who has always tried to get the most out of his players. I'm sorry. You know what? Only two coaches - Kentucky's John Calipari ($9.2 million) and Duke's Mike Krzyzewski ($7 million) - will more than Izzo this year.

"I've heard worse from him, " Henry said after scoring eight points against the Braves. 'It's once every blue moon, I feel like. I'm disappointed you can't coach a guy hard these days without somebody making a big deal about it.

The Spartans face their Big 10 rival Minnesota on Saturday.

Former Michigan State men's basketball players have taken to social media to stand up for head coach Tom Izzo following the head coach's fiery moment with a freshman during the Spartans' first round NCAA Tournament victory.
