Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper give intimate performance of 'Shallow'

After Cooper - who directed and starred in A Star is Born, the film that birthed the song - moved from the opposite end of the piano to cuddle next to Gaga on the bench, the on-screen couple sure looked like a PDA was imminent. Rumors of the singer's broken engagement from Christian Carino surfaced last week, when Gaga was seen without her ring. Many fans want to know: Are Gaga and Cooper an item?

"I have a true dream in our future as we evolve as humanity that these award shows not be male and female, but that we include everyone", she said.

On Twitter, the most-tweeted moments were similar: "Green Book" took the No. 1 spot, followed by "Shallow" winning original song, Malek's win, Gaga-Cooper's performance, and Olivia Colman snagging the best actress trophy for "The Favourite". But I play a lot of instruments.

But the standout performance was surely Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper " s deliciously raucous ballad, "Shallow', from A Star is Born, which would later win the coveted Oscar for Best Original Song. I write all my own music.

Lady Gaga has called on the Oscars to ditch its gendered acting categories, after her acclaimed performance at the Academy Awards.

"If you're watching this right now, all I have to say that this is hard work done for a long time".

"But I would like to think it was part of the whole performance, because there's a women's code and hopefully that's not ... hopefully it's only professional", Mel stated.

In the final 20 seconds of the song, as Gaga and Cooper sang together at that attractive Steinway piano, you could have heard a pin drop. "I just will not be compared to anyone anymore".

Gaga, of course, has become infamous for repeating variations of a "100 people in a room" line numerous times this awards season, leading many to believe Madonna was once again implying Gaga is a copycat.

She told the audience: "Thank you so much to the Academy for this wonderful honour".
