Instagram Accidentally Changed How You Scroll And People On Twitter Were Upset

Users were not happy with the update and many of them were tweeting about the change.

Instagram is a sacred way to pass time and share life updates for many.

"That was supposed to be a very small test that went broad by accident", he replied to some concerned users.

As of now, Instagram has not made any statements on today's developments.

'Introducing a new way to move through posts, ' a pop-up told them. He said the feature should be rolled back for users and those who still see it need to simply restart the app. The horizontal feed seemingly only affected the main feed while it was active, as user profiles still used the standard scrolling feed.

Mosseri replied to another tweet, adding, "Just a test that went to a few orders of magnitude more people than intended... sorry about that".

Some people logged into Instagram Thursday to an unwelcome surprise: Their vertical scrolling through images had disappeared. Additionally, he said the feed in the app should be back to normal.

It turns out that Instagram didn't intend to roll out the update as widely as it did.

A post from the Guardian's account appearing on the new Instagram tap-to-advance timeline.

Instagram is claiming that their update was accidental this morning.

The change, apparently rolled out by mistake, switched to a sideways-scrolling format activated by tapping to the left or right of the screen, according to the network.

The following video shows how the tap-to-advance in the feed worked on Instagram.
