Rocks Thrown At Military By Migrant Caravan To Be Treated As Rifles

President Donald Trump said Thursday the military will respond with force to anyone in the migrant caravans who attacks soldiers with rocks or other objects.

Later Wednesday, Trump told ABC News, "We have to have a wall of people". He says he will issue an executive order next week on immigration.

While Trump made frequent references to the caravan during his speech Thursday - and said he wanted to stop people who "violently overrun" the border - legal experts said his proposal could potentially violate both USA and global law.

"This is totally legal".

The executive order on immigration will be issued next week, Trump said. We have about five thousand eight [5,800]. "We have a lot of everything".

He then explored his latest eye-catching plan for curtailing immigration: removal of a constitutionally protected right to citizenship for anyone born on U.S. soil. "When we continued the exact same law, this country went insane".

Immigrant rights groups are expected to challenge any limits placed on access to asylum.

Thousands of Central American migrants resumed their slow trek through southern Mexico on Thursday, as immigration agents and police nibbled at the edges of the two caravans now in the country. A second caravan of about 3,000 migrants is also traveling to the US, followed by at least two smaller groups.

"As far as the caravan is concerned our military is out", President Trump said early Wednesday at the White House. Immigration officials have turned away asylum-seekers at ports of entry because of overcrowding, telling them to return at a later date.

Trump repeatedly blamed Democrats and the courts for the caravan and other unauthorized immigration. "And we are putting up temporary facilities, eventually people won't be coming here anymore when they realize they can't come through".

Trump, who famously instructed former press secretary Sean Spicer to tell reporters his inaugural crowd bested Barack Obama's, made the claim after days of media reports on the substantial masses of people making their way toward the border.

The president's push on immigration comes days before the midterms, although top aides have claimed that isn't the reason for the timing. Some 5,200 troops are already making their way down to the border to provide logistical and other support to U.S. border agents.

Think about that for a second: the new border force would constitute a deployment outstripped only by countries we've occupied after World War II and our main ally against the most likely instigator of World War II, North Korea.

The migrant caravan poses a serious threat to the sovereignty of the nation's borders, said Trump. Currently, there is a backlog of about 700,000 cases, and it can take years for claims to get resolved.

The order will also require asylum-seekers to come to the U.S.at an official port of entry, rather than illegally crossing the border.

While MSNBC had declined to air the speech live, CNN broadcast Trump's speech directly, exposing millions of viewers to his lies.

The US leader also blamed the Democrats for creating a legal system which is being abused by those coming illegally to the United States, stressing that asylum is a "very special protection intended for only those fleeing government persecution based on race, religion, and another protective status".
