YouTube back online after outage hits website, TV, music service

Google's YouTube TV streaming service went down during the crucial England v Croatia match, leaving many without access to the stream.

On Wednesday 17 October 2018, YouTube fans around the world woke up to only to find issues connecting to the service. There was no immediate word as to the cause of the outage. The site went down around 9:20pm ET and users across the world started reporting error messages displayed on their screens. Others complained that they were getting the annoying as hell 503 network error message. This was in a period of one hour, while the regular average was not more than 10 in an hour.

YouTube chief executive Susan Wojcicki also tweeted her own apology, saying "sorry to everyone who was impacted" and thanking the teams who resolved the issue. Users of different countries had problems due to Youtube's worldwide outage.

YouTube abruptly went down for around an hour on Tuesday evening.

Along with being able to carve out ad space for content developed for TV viewing, advertisers will receive television-focused analytics and special options for their ads with this YouTube update, too. "If you continue to experience issues, please let us know". But as the company has said, it is working on restoring the services back again, which has become a necessity in the lives of many. Thank you for the patience of the people.

YouTube had said it was "working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed". The last time it saw a service disruption was on July 11 this year during the FIFA World Cup match between Croatia and England.
