The Royal Family has a touching history with Fiji

The Royal Family has a touching history with Fiji

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, attended the Royal Academy of Arts for the opening of the Oceania exhibition, bringing together about 200 works from public collections.

Kensington Palace confirmed the baby news last week, just hours after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in Sydney for their first major worldwide tour since their wedding in May.

The Duchess of Sussex has stepped out to attend a state reception in Fiji in a true show-stopper - her first ever royal gown! Wow.

The duke and duchess also went out on the water in Sydney, where Harry took up the challenge of scaling the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The couple also attended a reception and dinner hosted by Fiji's president. They reportedly plan to bring their new baby with them.

They announced their happy baby news last Monday, just as they arrived in Australia, with a statement from Kensington Palace saying: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019".

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were greeted by hundreds of flag-waving well-wishers on Tuesday after arriving in Fiji for a three-day visit as part of their tour of the South Pacific.

A group of friends Suva Priscilla, Claire and Margie, told local reporters: "We will stand here for as long as we can", to catch a glimpse of Harry and Meghan.

Harry and Meghan will be feted in a ceremony at a park in Suva, mirroring a welcome for Queen Elizabeth in 1953.

The couple is taking precautions by only Harry visiting Fiji's Solo-i-Suva forest for the unveiling of the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy and the same for their planned trip to Suva's War Memorial, The Sun reported.

Prince Harry spent most of the day without his wife Meghan, who was relaxing at a luxury resort, where he turned his attention from the Invictus Games to the environment and met with Indigenous elders. For their arrival, Meghan this time opted for a custom dress by Australian brand Zimmermann, loved by style bloggers and celebrities for its feminine, floaty designs.
