Obama goes up against Trump in fight for Nevada Senate seat

Former US Vice President Joe Biden spoke during a rally at the Culinary Workers Union Hall Local 226 in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Meanwhile, former Vice President Joe Biden will campaign for Democratic candidates in Las Vegas on Saturday as early voting kicks off.

Trump already has demonstrated how he shifts the blame for setbacks to others, according to Politico.

The 75-year-old former DE senator, two-time candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, vice-president to Barack Obama and frontrunner among possible 2020 candidates was speaking in support of Jacky Rosen, who is in a tight Senate race with the Republican Dean Heller.

Biden also touted the candidacy of other Democrats, including Steve Sisolak, the powerful chairman of the county commission overseeing the Las Vegas Strip who is running for governor, and Susie Lee and Steven Horsford, who are seeking seats to Nevada's 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts, both of which are considered swing seats. "But it's just classic behavior on the part of this president to not shoulder the blame if things go bad, and to definitely take responsibility if things go right".

Rosen has made health care the primary issue of her campaign - an issue that was also central to Obama's presidency.

But polls have tightened in recent weeks, especially after the bitter fight in early October over conservative judge Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the US Supreme Court. But during the last midterm elections in 2014, many Democrats stayed home and Republicans won key races across the state.

Trump has refused to release his tax returns, unlike recent US presidents.

The Nevada State Democratic Party announced last week that Obama will appear October 22 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

"They're just making it up", he added.

His campaign cited a scheduling conflict for missing the rally.

At the same time, Republicans are seeing their largest lead in polling history on their handling of the economy, with respondents giving them a 15-point advantage over the Democrats.

"Historically midterm elections favor the party that is not in White House, but the president's popularity, or lack thereof, determines if it's a wave election", Pearson said.

Does the president help more than he hurts?

On Monday, Trump is set to hold a rally with Texas Sen.

FOX Business has a request in to the White House for more details.

Obama's rating saw its lowest point ahead of 2010 midterm elections in October 2010, after which the Democratic party lost a significant number of seats both in the House and the Senate.

Overall, Democrats have a greater percentage of the popular vote in the Senate, but hold fewer seats since Republicans control states with small populations.

Nonetheless, should the midterm results unfold as expected, Democratic control of one house will certainly alter the way things work in Trump World, and the "check" in the "check and balance" system that defines the US government will actually mean something once again.
