'House of Cards' cast cancel Megyn Kelly interview after blackface scandal

Plus, people who've watched the show have always commented that she seemed bored, which I believe, because overall, her show seems boring. In the spirit of Halloween, Kelly and her panellists tackled the issue of contentious costumes. "But no one was listening to what she was hinting at the entire time - which was that she wanted a schedule that would give her more time with her kids and allow her time to focus on specials", the source said.

Did Kelly deserve pushback? Yes.

"You may have heard that yesterday we had a discussion here about political correctness and Halloween costumes", she said.

Kelly's co-hosts on the main Today show, who present between 7am and 9am before Kelly appears, were heavily critical of her comments. On the subject of blackface, Kelly expressed, "What is racist?" "Jesus was a white man, too..."

But her demonstrations of contrition did little, it seemed, to improve her standing with her colleagues or superiors at the network.

She quickly apologized for her statements, and acknowledged that she didn't know enough about the history of blackface.

But what was more weird than Kelly's gaffe was NBC's overt sabotage of their own employee. Even late night got to work.

Earlier this week, multiple outlets reported that Megyn Kelly Today would be ending due to the brewing controversy, and CNN suggested that the cancellation would be imminent imminent. Kelly had been scheduled to take part in NBC News' coverage of the 2018 midterm elections.

"'Megyn" is the spelling on my birth certificate", Kelly told the website said in 2009.

Kelly secured top Hollywood litigator, Bryan Freedman, to represent her. NBC has not responded to Yahoo Entertainment's request for comment and has only said, "Given the circumstances, Megyn Kelly Today will be on tape the rest of the week". She has been at the network for less than two years.

NBC News declined to comment on Kelly's status with the network. She was dropped by her talent agency. The closest she could get to that time bloc would be 7 p.m. or 11 p.m., but those slots are now occupied by network faves Martha MacCallum and Shannon Bream.

Kelly reportedly parted ways with Creative Artists Agency on Wednesday.

'We are just working out timing of the announcement but mark my word - she is gone and will never be seen on NBC live again'. In 2015, a Pittsburgh woman named Megan Kelly made headlines after she started getting an influx of emails meant for the then-Fox News host.
