Cavaliers’ Love misses second straight game with sore foot

Cavaliers’ Love misses second straight game with sore foot

Andre Drummond powered for 26 points and 22 rebounds for Detroit to remain unbeaten with a 110-103 National Basketball Association victory over the winless Cleveland Cavaliers. Through five games this season, Clarkson is averaging 17.0 points per off the bench - good for 4th-best in the National Basketball Association. Magic guards D.J. Augustin and Jerian Grant chased him around the perimeter and into the lane, but never could catch him. With a sizeable lead in hand, the Celtics took the luxury of resting the bulk of their starters in the final quarter. But after Orlando cut it to three, Lillard and McCollum combined for eight straight points and Portland was back in front 110-99. He slowed down a little bit in the First Round matchup, but still finished with 23 points in Indy's Game 7 loss. The Magic kept pace offensively, but were a step slow at the defensive end and Portland beat them to the basket repeatedly.

Marcus Morris added 21 points, Al Horford had 19 and Kyrie Irving 15.

Paul George scored 22 points for Oklahoma City, but shot just 7 of 22. Daniel Theis had 17 points and eight rebounds, Gordon Hayward supplied 15 points and Terry Rozier added 14.

The Cavaliers aren't the same squad that eliminated Indy from the postseason over the past couple years, but they'll still be in a mood for some revenge when they roll into Cleveland tonight.

Brown's 3-point shot with 5:48 remaining in the half pushed the Celtics' lead above 20 at 52-31.

Griffin ranked second among the NBA's scoring leaders at 33.8 points per game heading into Friday's action after posting 26 points against the Cavaliers.

The Celtics received 34 points from their reserves in the first half and built a 63-41 halftime lead.

Pistons forward Blake Griffin, who entered the game averaging 33.8 points, was held to seven points on 2 of 13 shooting from the field. Morris made a layup late in the quarter to give the Celtics a 74-73 lead at the end of the period. The C's also connected on four of their 10 3-point attempts.
