Barcelona confirm they have 'no plans to re-sign Neymar'

Barcelona confirm they have 'no plans to re-sign Neymar'

But the emergence of Kylian Mbappe as a global icon has handed him the same problem at PSG and Neymar has reportedly decided he'd be happier back at Barcelona.

The winger left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in a £198million deal a year ago but is now being heavily linked with a return to the Nou Camp.

He told radio station SER Catalunya: "The Barcelona board has not considered the possibility of bringing back Neymar".

"I would like to be Superman", Neymar said.

A number of different stories have emerged over the past few days that Neymar is "sorry" to have left Barça and feels the competition in Paris is not getting the most out of him as a player. It is a question that can not be answered because no one has even mentioned it.

"It's speculation, we're not in the market at the moment or looking short term, but anything can happen in football". "Anything can happen, but it's hard, we will see". I don't think he will spend many years in Paris, but I don't think he will go to Madrid. "If he had done, PSG would have been able to buy him for less money and it would have cost us less to sign [replacements], too". Ever since moving to the French capital Neymar has won all the domestic trophies so far and also helped his team eight points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 this season at the moment.

However, since Neymar left, Barca have since signed Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho to replace him, while this summer they added winger Malcom to their squad.
