Manchester United fans disappointed with team performance vs Derby

Manchester United fans disappointed with team performance vs Derby

Paul Pogba has been told by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho he will never captain the club again while the Portuguese remains in charge, according to reports on Tuesday (Sept 25), as tensions between United's star midfielder and manager continue to rise.

"We practise penalties and we see it in training and when we get past the sixth penalty I know we're in trouble with Bailly and Jones", he told Sky Sports.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he has stripped Paul Pogba of the vice-captaincy. The same person that decides Paul is not second captain anymore was exactly the same person that decides that Paul was the second captain, myself.

After United's win over Leicester, Pogba claimed he would be fined if he commented on his situation at the club, while he also conceded his attitude was not right in the 3-2 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

This is just the latest episode in the ongoing drama between player and coach, with Pogba and his agent Mina Raiola reportedly trying to force through a move to Barcelona during the summer transfer window, due to concerns over comments Mourinho made about his player following the 25-year-old's excellent performances at this summers World Cup in Russian Federation.

He has indicated privately he will not look to force a transfer in January but will reassess his options at the end of the season.

Pogba is set to miss the Carabao Cup clash with Derby, with Mourinho's squad thin for the contest at Old Trafford.

Phil Jones missed the crucial penalty in the shootout with the score at 8-7 and Mourinho admitted he was not confident of winning the tie once the centre-back stepped up.

"We're at home, and we should play much better against Wolves", said Pogba.
