Kavanaugh accuser says her strongest memory is 'uproarious laughter'

Kavanaugh accuser says her strongest memory is 'uproarious laughter'

Avenatti's client Julie Swetnick says she observed Kavanaugh as a "mean drunk" harassing women at parties, including at "Beach Week" in Maryland. She says she witnessed Kavanaugh acting inappropriately with women at these parties, noting he would "grind" against them without consent and attempted to remove their clothing to expose their private parts as well as speak demeaningly towards them.

Swetnick does not say Kavanaugh participated in the alleged rape or what, if any, role he played, nor does she say where the alleged episode took place.

The AP has not been able to corroborate Swetnick's accusations, and continues to investigate.

Kavanaugh and Professor Christine Blasey Ford are scheduled to testify tomorrow before the Senate Judiciary Committee, with a vote slated for Friday morning.

Avenatti declined to expand on the allegation in an interview Wednesday on ABC's "The View", saying he would not add detail beyond what was in the statement.

The woman is represented by a lawyer named Michael Avenatti who represents Stormie Daniels, the porn actress who's accusing President Trump of paying her to keep silent.

Kavanaugh, the 53-year-old appeals court judge, released a statement denying the Swetnick accusations.

However, Ford's attorneys have also sought to subpoena an actual witness, Kavanaugh's high school friend Mark Judge, who was allegedly in the room during the assault. Shortly after the incident, I shared what had transpired with at least two other people.

"But those of us on the committee have to be prepared for the possibility, indeed the likelihood, that there will be no definitive answers to the very large questions before us", he said on the Senate floor. In 2012 during a couples therapy session, he says, she revealed that in high school she had been "trapped in a room and physically restrained by one boy who was molesting her while another boy watched".

The allegations against Kavanaugh have cast a cultural spotlight on his nomination in light of the "Me Too" movement. She has said both Judge and Kavanaugh had been drinking at the time.

Judge is an author and journalist who was accused of sexual assault by the first woman to come forward with claims against Kavanaugh.

An attorney for Judge in an email to The Hill said Judge "vehemently denies" Swetnick's allegations. Christine Blasey Ford drew on her training as a psychologist.

"I think we're in a different time", she told The Hill.

Kavanaugh will testify Thursday before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In his declaration, Koegler said he met the Fords while coaching their son's baseball team more than five years ago.

In his written remarks, Kavanaugh calls the scandal "grotesque" and an "obvious character assassination".

She witnessed both of them "drink excessively and engage in highly inappropriate conduct", she stated.
