'Don't touch me,' Senator Rubio tells conspiracy theorist Jones

Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones became a sideshow outside two congressional hearings Wednesday, insulting Florida Sen.

Both accounts show "account suspended" messages, so the tweets and videos that violated Twitter's policy are no longer available.

Twitter had previously resisted calls to ban Alex Jones, though it prevented him from posting on his account for a week last month.

Twitter also said that it "will take action" if in the future it discovers other accounts being used to get around the ban of Jones and InfoWars.

The hearing was also attended by Jones, who said he came to highlight his deplatforming and "censorship" from other sites including Facebook and YouTube.

'We wanted to be open about this action given the broad interest in this case'.

Darcy claimed that none of those statements by Jones were true.

He continues by saying Darcy 'smiles like a possum that crawled out of the rear end of a dead cow'. A second House hearing focused on Republican assertions that Twitter is censoring conservatives - a charge Jones has championed and the company has denied.




Darcy has aggressively questioned social media companies about the forbearance they showed Jones, asking why they have allowed him to remain on their platforms for as long as they have.

Before confronting CNN's Darcy, Jones was involved in a heated exchange with Republican Senator Marco Rubio outside of the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.

Jones then asked Rubio if he planned on having him arrested if he dared to touch him again.

After attempting to answer a few more questions over Jones' continued commentary, Rubio, who sits on the Senate panel, told reporters "you guys can talk to this clown", before walking off.

There's something to be said that it took Jones harassing Dorsey, a fellow white man, to his face for Dorsey to take action.

In August, Twitter said Jones had violated its rules at least seven times, but it stopped short of banning him outright from the platform.
