Crumbs. Apple has tweaked the MacBook Pro keyboard

Crumbs. Apple has tweaked the MacBook Pro keyboard

In a press release today, Apple announced updates to its MacBook Pro line of notebook computers. Users can opt for a 32 GB of RAM and up to 4TB of fast SSD memory, a True Tone display and an improved third-generation keyboard for quieter typing. The specs centric update will enhance the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models.

Apple's MacBook Pros have always been the most powerful and - to be sure - most expensive laptops in the company's lineup.

The company claims the 8th generation, Intel "6-core" processor on the 15-inch model boosts speeds by as much as 70 percent, while the "quad-core" on the 13-inch version is up to two times as fast.

The updated 13-inch MacBook also gets Intel's newest Iris Plus integrated graphics 655 with 128MB of eDRAM - memory used for speeding up graphics performance - which is double the previous amount. The MacBook Pro models ship with macOS High Sierra, but will get a free upgrade to macOS Mojave in the fall. With the T2 Chip, Apple can deliver an enhanced security system with support for secure boot and on-the-fly encrypted storage.

The new computers are available Thursday to order through Apple.

But if you bought a MacBook Pro in the last 30 days or so, it really might come down to how nice an Apple Store employee is, according to 9to5Mac. The new Retina display with True Tone technology offer support for the P3 wide colour gamut. However, Apple is finally dealing with one of those issues with its update to the 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. The 15-inch MacBook Pros will take things a step further, with six-core CPUs in Core i7 and Core i9 flavours. It offered two Thunderbolt 2 and USB-A ports, an HDMI port, an SD card slot and MagSafe. Most notably, Apple has not fully changed the design of the laptops' keyboards, which have drawn serious complaints from consumers who find them unreliable.

The entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro without the Touch Bar didn't get an update, and neither did the thin-and-light MacBook nor the more cheap MacBook Air.
