India v/s Ireland 2nd T20I

India v/s Ireland 2nd T20I

Before a full tour - consisting three T20Is, as many ODIs and five Tests - against England, India will be warming up in Dublin in the said two-match series against the minnows.

India left for Dublin on Tuesday after having a practice session in London on Monday. The 29-year-old believes that a flexible batting order will help keep India's opponents guessing while they are in Ireland and England.

The second T20 global between Ireland and India will take place on 29 June, 2018. India would also not want to drop Dinesh Karthik, who is in sizzling form since March. Another run-fest is on the cards at the warm and sunny Malahide on Friday and Ireland will have an excellent opportunity to notch up a win against a top team, while India would be hoping to make light work of their lower-ranked opposition. Virat Kohli's side were given the ideal preparation for more onerous tasks later on their tour when they made the most of warm conditions to post 208 for five off their 20 overs in the first of the two-match series.

Wrist-spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal snared seven wickets between them in Wednesday's win and are expected to retain their place for the clash. However, the pace department is an area of concern, as the second-choice fast bowlers have not enjoyed enough game time.

It's a rare occasion when the former Indian skipper had to sit out despite being in the squad.

Predicted playing XI: Kohli (c) Rohit, Dhawan, Rahul, Raina, Dhoni (wk), Pandya, Kuldeep, Chahal, Umesh, Kaul. It remains to be seen if the think tank will bench either Kumar or Bumrah against Ireland to give other pacers some much needed overs.

The dress rehearsal before the England series which will see India take on England in all three formats of the game; the two T20 internationals against Ireland are the lull before the storm.

Time: Ireland vs India, 2nd T20I will begin at 8:30 pm (IST).

Ireland: Gary Wilson (c & wk), Andrew Balbirnie, Peter Chase, George Dockrell, Josh Little, Andy McBrine, Kevin O'Brien, William Porterfield, Stuart Poynter, Boyd Rankin, James Shannon, Simi Singh, Paul Stirling, Stuart Thompson.
