Sergio Ramos rubbishes Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah comparisons

Sergio Ramos rubbishes Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah comparisons

Liverpool's Egypt forward Mohamed Salah is doubtful for next month's World Cup after suffering a shoulder injury in Saturday's 3-1 Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid, his club manager Juergen Klopp has said.

The results confirmed that Salah sprained his shoulder ligaments, meaning there is a fair chance he will be ready for Egypt's World Cup opener against Uruguay.

Salah left the field in tears only 30 minutes into the UEFA Champions League final as he awkwardly landed on his shoulder following a heavy challenge with Ramos.

The 25-year-old tried to continue but went down to the turf once again four minutes later in obvious pain and pointing to his left shoulder, before he was replaced by Adam Lallana.

At one cafe in Cairo, numerous 500 people who gathered to watch the game on a giant screen left when Salah exited the match.

The Madrid side were also forced to make a change in the first half shortly after Salah went off when defender Dani Carvajal injured himself as he attempted a backheel. He could miss the World Cup.

Ramos received thousands of abusive tweets following his display in the match, with a number of Liverpool fans accusing the former Sevilla man of deliberately targeting Salah with his combative style of play. Maybe he is in the hospital at the moment getting x-ray.

Salah's injury has cast doubts on whether he will make the flight to Russian Federation this summer. He didn't play the final, we lost a very important player, like probably Egypt lost a very important player.

"It is a serious injury".

Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp said "anything is possible" but that Salah is doubtful for the World Cup. "I hope he returns back to the pitch very soon and stays a shining star for Egypt", the president wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday. Ramos said: "Sometimes football shows you it's (sic) good side and other times the bad". "I really feel for him, nobody wants that, [but] that's the situation".
