Predators' Hartnell back in lineup for Game 6

Predators' Hartnell back in lineup for Game 6

"A 1-0 lead means nothing, a 3-1 lead means nothing, 2-2 doesn't mean anything".

The Predators are 22-5 in their last 27 Monday games and 36-17 in their last 53 overall while the Jets are 11-4 in their last 15 against the Central and 5-2 in their last seven Monday games. On Saturday at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, the Jets trounced the Predators 6-2 in game five of their second round playoff series.

The victor of the series will advance to face the Vegas Golden Knights, who eliminated the San Jose Sharks in six games on Sunday night.

Games can be live-streamed on NBC Sports Live and NBC Sports app.

The teams with the two best records in the National Hockey League in 2017-18 combined for 41 goals in five regular-season meetings, and 25 more to open this series before Nashville clamped down Thursday. He had a hat trick against Vancouver in the conference semifinals.

Braden Holtby stopped 21 shots for the Capitals, who will face Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference finals. However, if Nashville takes out the Jets, TDS will send Bass Berry & Sims a Manitoba gift package consisting of an assortment of Manitoba-made food and beverage products, some TDS branded "swag" and a postcard featuring Winnipeg's top tourist destinations. They played well. They have some big (defense) and big players.

"We're going to have to play much better", Trotz said.

Thus, heading into a potentially series- and season-deciding Game 6, Nashville is going to need Rinne to play like the soon-to-be Vezina victor that he is instead of the Vezina pretender that he has appeared to be. "We need to be better".

Speaking of Connor and Scheifele, the third member of that line Blake Wheeler also registered three assists in the win giving the trio a combined eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) on the evening.

This back-and-forth series has yet to see a team win consecutive games.

The result equaled the series at three games each.

The veteran winger will make his third appearance of the postseason in Monday's Game 6 against Winnipeg, wherein the Predators will look to avoid an early playoff exit.

Given how successful they've been against the Predators, the Jets should follow a simple strategy of trying to once again overwhelm their Central Division rival. Expect a new level of frenzy from Jets fans tonight at Bell MTS Place.

The same, however, can't be said for Rinne, for whom the Winnipeg offense has been about all he can handle, particularly on three occasions in this series. Typically its been balanced throughout the lineup in our wins. Rinne allowed six goals on 26 shots and took the loss in game five. Perhaps it's a function of how well these two teams are matched up... but... put all that aside and the fact is this... only one team HAS to win two straight to win this series.

Heading into the best-of-seven, we outlined a few matchups that were going of must-watch calibre in the second round, and chief among them was the tete-a-tete between two Vezina Trophy nominees: the Jets' Connor Hellebuyck and the Predators' Pekka Rinne.

Even with a defender as powerful as Subban patrolling the ice, the Jets may have too much in attack for the Predators to deal with, and if that's the case, Game 6 is going to be a repeat of Game 5.
