OnePlus 6 launched: Price, specs, features, sale, availability and more

OnePlus 6 launched: Price, specs, features, sale, availability and more

It will be made available in the next three weeks.

The OnePlus 6 may be today's big gadget news, but after months of leaks, there wasn't much surprise left.

This stunning 6.28-inch Full Optic AMOLED 19:9 display covers nearly the entire front of the phone with only a small notch at the top of the device. It has an 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch so it fits in just about the same footprint as the 5T (OnePlus says it covers 84% of the front, but that doesn't account for the notch). This device has 1080 x 2280 pixels across its face, and its display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Notably, this is the phone from the company sport the largest display but it is of the same size as the previous models. The company's first wireless headphones, on the other hand, might actually be the more compelling product for an audiophile like me, always on the look out for a good value.

CHINESE PHONE MAKER OnePlus has officially unveiled the OnePlus 6, its biggest and fastest smartphone yet.

Heading inside, the OnePlus 6 is nearly as impressive as what's on the outside with this new phone offering the ultimate power via Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor. The processor is backed by Adreno 630 GPU for startling graphics and gaming. Buyers can choose between versions with 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB of two-lane UFS 2.1 storage. Despite the rumours, there's no added IP67 certification, no wireless charging support and no Galaxy S9-rivalling "Super Slo-Mo" mode. It claims to offer a day of power in just half an hour of charging. These are official camera samples provided by OnePlus itself, demonstrating what the phone's dual camera setup can deliver in both daytime and low-light conditions. The second shooter gets a 20-MP sensor and the same f/1.7 lens. It will not take a longer time to process the images. It has a primary 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 sensor with a 1.22-micron pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and EIS. HDR and Portrait Mode make their return as well.

OnePlus 6 is also the fastest phone ever from OnePlus' stable. There is also a new in-device video editor.

Price of OnePlus 6 starts at $529. It also offers AptX connectivity for CD-quality streaming on Android phones, something often missing from headphones in this price range. OnePlus says users will be able to download the developer preview "in the next couple of days". They are made out of a non-metallic mineral and silica gel and OnePlus says they will create a cleaner and richer sound.

The updated OxygenOS 5.1 comes with lesser bloatware along with faster app launch, caching for most used apps and overdraw reduction mode. Additionally, there's Bluetooth 5, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and NFC.

There's a multi-function 3-way in-line remote too, providing controls for music, calls and Google Assistant (the latter of which, we're told, will only work with OnePlus handsets). OnePlus 6 will roll out globally starting from May 22nd, however, if you want to buy the Silk White variant than it will be available only from June 5. Furthermore, the accents and edges on the white model are gold instead of black.
