Modi blasts Congress, JD(S), says they have secret pact

Modi blasts Congress, JD(S), says they have secret pact

As the elections draw near in the state of Karnataka, the President of the Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi has shared some interesting views with the Deccan Herald, a Karnataka newspaper. "Congress is not bothered about the depletion of natural resources here", Modi said.

He also asked Modi how he was asking for votes for "a candidate who is the brother of the mining mafia kingpin G Janardhana Reddy who brought shame to Bellry & the state" (sic).

There has been no contribution from the Centre to the Congress-led government's Rs 8,500 crore contribution in farm loan waivers, Gandhi said on Twitter.

"People who can't differentiate between red green chilly, and claim to produce gold from potatoes have now started chanting the name of farmers", Modi said.

Modi sought to clear the air about the alleged alliance with the JD (S) which has been in the news for long now. "They pretend to fight, but in Bengaluru, the JD (S) supported a Congress mayor", Modi said at an election rally in Tumakuru.

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah had called the Prime Minister's comment a "not-so-secret" understanding between BJP and JD (S).

Coming down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for dubbing Bengaluru "Sin City" in one of his campaign speeches on Thursday, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari demanded that Mr Modi apologise publicly for describing Bengaluru in this manner.

The Congress and the BJP, considered the two main contenders in the upcoming polls, have been accusing each other of corruption, inefficiency, dividing the society and using communities as vote banks. "They should stop making fool out of people of Tumukura and Karnataka".

"But still Narendra Modi is not happy, he wants them to sit in Karnataka assembly", he said.

The meeting, which will be held two days after the declaration of the results of the Karnataka Assembly polls, will focus mainly on the pro-poor initiatives of the government and the role of the cells in their publicity.

The Siddaramaiah government launched Pink Hoysala vehicles past year which patrol the streets of the state capital to ensure safety of women and children. I wish they were serious about the welfare of the farmers: PM Modi.

As part of his campaign blitzkrieg, the Prime Minister will address election rallies in Tumkur, Gadag, Shimoga and Mangaluru. And you say Congress has insulted Bellary.
