Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout Battle Royale Mode Announced

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout Battle Royale Mode Announced

The Blackout Battle Royale mode in "Black Ops 4" is pretty much like "Fortnite Battle Royale" and "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" but done with the "Call of Duty" twist. Blackout is an experience unlike any other game or mode in Call of Duty history, where players will have to scavenge, strategize, compete and survive to win.

"Those of us at Blizzard have been friends with Treyarch for many, many years", said Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan during the announcement livestream. They will also be introducing a new mode known as Blackout.

The newest entry in the popular Call of Duty franchise was initially announced back in March.

Black Ops 4 is telling stories differently than in past games, incorporating narrative gameplay experiences directly into Multiplayer, and introducing a new Zombies universe.

Blackout mode, as it's called here, takes place on a map 1,500 times larger than any previous Call of Duty multiplayer locale, delivering a free-for-all battle to be the last player standing. According to Treyarch, this is the culmination of years of work on the Black Ops series in which they are combining all of the best elements into a single map where players get to duke it on land, sea, or even in air vehicles. This includes full integration of social features, chat, friends lists, everything else players have come to expect from Battle.net and the Call of Duty brand so far. It's a first for the franchise but it's probably not a bad move given online multiplayer has always been the main draw of the Call of Duty franchise. The decision was, we wanted to make a different style of game this time. Players will be powerful alone, but devastating as a team working together. Player health is not going to automatically regenerate like it used to do in Call of Duty 2 and players will have to rely on stimpacks instead. We see more and more players spending more time with multiplayer and zombies, not just in the game, but out of the game, streaming and talking about it in forums.

In addition, the PC version will also feature not only dedicated server support, but graphics capabilities that support 4K resolutions, high dynamic range, and ultrawide monitors, all with uncapped framerates. The game is expected to be out on 12 October 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
