White selected by LA Chargers in NFL Draft

Chargers selected West Virginia S Kyzir White with the No. 119 overall pick in the 2018 National Football League draft.

Tipping the scales at 218-pounds at the West Virginia Pro-Day, White was timed at 4.6 in the 40-yard dash and had been getting looks as both a safety and linebacker at the next level.

Los Angeles' selection of White was described as an "attitude pick", by National Football League draft analysts. In 13 games lat season, White totaled 94 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 3 interceptions, as well as 4 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.

Kyzir White added to his family's NFL Draft legacy on Saturday afternoon.

A hybrid safety/linebacker, White was the 19th pick of the fourth round and No. 119 overall, representing the first time since 2011 that the Mountaineers did not have a player drafted in the top three rounds.

The Bolts received an A- grade from Chargers Wire for their selection of the versatile former Mountaineer safety, because we felt like it was steal given the round that he was taken and it only bolsters defensive coordinator Gus Bradley's defense even more.

Kevin White, Kyzir and Ka'Raun's older sibling, was drafted in the first round (seventh overall) by the Chicago Bears in 2015.
