Trump assaults Mueller 'witch hunt' as WH supply calls investigation 'uncontrolled'

Trump assaults Mueller 'witch hunt' as WH supply calls investigation 'uncontrolled'

They proceed to only go ahead ... and I've this witch hunt continuously occurring for over 12 months now.

Trump, speaking Monday to reporters at the White House, defended Cohen as a "good man" and blasted Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe as "an attack on our country, in a true sense".

Now Trump can say, with some hope that large numbers of attentive Americanos will agree with him, that, "There wasn't any Russian collusion, which is what this counsel was supposed to be in business to investigate". Mueller is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential campaign, whether anyone close to Trump engaged in collusion and whether Trump sought to obstruct justice.

It's become "an attack on our country". I said, that is really now in a whole new level of unfairness.

"If [the president] is thinking of using the Federal Bureau of Investigation raid to fire Special Counsel Mueller or otherwise interfere with the chain of command in the Russian Federation probe, we Democrats have one simple message for him: don't", Schumer wrote.

It was reported that federal prosecutors in the Manhattan U.S. attorney's office obtained search warrants for Cohen's office after receiving a referral "in part" from Mueller.

Trump also accused Mueller's investigators of being "the most biased group of people [with] the biggest conflicts of interest" and said Attorney General Jeff Sessions "made a awful mistake for the country" when he recused himself from overseeing the Russian Federation investigation previous year. Ryan called the raids "completely inappropriate and unnecessary" and said they led to the "unnecessary seizure" of documents protected by attorney-client privilege. "Frankly, I can't imagine, because each of us has to come to terms with our own heart and conscience - I would fire the SOB in three seconds if it were me". Clifford has sued Cohen and Trump in federal court in Los Angeles, seeking a ruling that the "hush agreement" she signed in October 2016 was never valid because Trump didn't sign it.

"Someone had to have fed Mueller information to make him believe that either Trump and/or Cohen were not being honest in the statements they've made publicly", Cohen said.

Cohen, a longtime lawyer for the Trump Organization, paid $130,000 to Stephanie Clifford, an adult film actress known as Stormy Daniels.

Exactly so. And it's an affront to American law and American values, at least what were American values not so long ago, and which we can pray still have some force.

According to the Times, the line of inquiry is part of a broader look at foreign money flowing through Trump and his associates.

Mueller reports to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed the special counsel past year after the recusal of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Trump's firing of former FBI Director James Comey. What Mueller is doing "is just an extension of the eavesdropping conducted by Obama". In exchange for that payment, Trump made an appearance at a conference about Ukrainian politics. Mueller's investigators have also been inquiring about money coming in from the United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Trump also said earlier that the administration is "studying" the situation in Syria closely and is talking to military leaders about an appropriate response.
