Sheriff's deputy's vehicle strikes activist protesting Stephon Clark's death

Sheriff's deputy's vehicle strikes activist protesting Stephon Clark's death

"It comes down to wrong and right".

New York Daily News journalist Chuck Modiano, who focuses on sports and the Black Lives Matter movement, joined By Any Means Necessary hosts Eugene Puryear and Sean Blackmon on Radio Sputnik to talk about the intersections of activism and sports.

Barnes said he feels he is uniquely situated to work as a community leader, and said he can work with city and "gang leaders". He was actually trying to bring players!

"This is happening everywhere", said protester and Sacramento State business administration senior, Arick Holts. No further details were released.

The demonstration came about a week of protests in downtown Sacramento that have shut down both the I-5 freeway and the Golden 1 Center, forcing a majority of fans to leave the area without entering the game because the doors were blocked.

Protests have rocked Sacramento since Clark's shooting, including delaying National Basketball Association games.

"You talk about the owners; well, first the owners had said some pretty heartfelt words".

"You don't know the damage inside".

Black Lives Matter and other protests over police violence have always been dogged by conspiracy theories that protesters were paid to incite violence and discontent. Apparently, words aren't the only thing the former National Basketball Association player is offering.

Clark leaves behind two sons, aged three and one. Warriors coach sounds off on social issuesBarnes announced that he is starting a college scholarship fund to provide money for education to boys who have lost their fathers. "Show me your hands".

That bullet forced him to spin with his back to officers, and he was shot six times in the back, according to noted pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu, who performed the autopsy for the family.

Clark died in the backyard of his grandparents' house, where he was living at the time.

The officers said they believed Clark was holding a gun, but only a cellphone was found near his body, police said.

The shooting appears to violate the Sacramento Police Department's use-of-force rules, according to the New York Daily News.

The Philharmonik's single includes an artist's statement that says, "This song is to represent the unjustified killing of Stephon Clark in Sacramento". Uproar has only intensified since then, after a police van was caught on camera ramming a protester and driving away.

But videos posted on Twitter show sheriff's vehicles, surrounded by crowds protesting the shooting death last month of Stephon Clark, moving slowly through the crowd as someone urges repeatedly on a megaphone, "Back away from my vehicle".

"Unfortunately in many protests that have developed to this scope, there are professional protesters and professional instigators that infiltrate the protest for their own purposes", Jones said at the press conference where the video was played.
