Ant and Dec missing from new Britain's Got Talent trailer

Ant and Dec missing from new Britain's Got Talent trailer

A source at ITV has responded to reports that an ancestry documentary fronted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly has been axed, because it contains scenes of the pair drinking.

It's been a manic week for Dec, as the TV presenter has confirmed that his wife Ali is expecting their first child.

It will be a welcome boost after a awful week in which he saw his best friend Ant McPartlin charged with a drink driving offence and withdraw from broadcasting commitments for the foreseeable future to spend time in rehab.

With Ant expected to stay in rehab for an extended period, he could also also miss taking part in Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity.

ITV and Dec then made a decision to cancel one night of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway with Dec heading back to take the reigns for the final two shows alone.

He wrote: "Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead".

'Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series'.

Meanwhile, despite Ant's absence from he show, The Sun have revealed that Ant will still appear in pre-recorded segments that will be featured on the ITV programme on Saturday. Reported to have been trying for a baby for some time, it looks like this is the start of another happy chapter in the couple's lives.

The new picture of the Geordie duo, both aged 42, shows them surrounded by crew members who were finishing setting up the shot. "Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it ❤️ D x".

Dec will have to prove there is a show without Punch, as he goes solo for the first time this weekend.

Ant McPartlin will appear on this weekend's "Saturday Night Takeaway" as it returns to ITV following a one week break.
