Thursday, March 1 Morning Forecast Discussion

Temperatures should hover around the upper 50's and the low 60's depending on where the cloud deck is. That being said, regardless of any severe weather threat, winds will be gusty all day long, exceeding 35 miles per hour at times. Temperatures have also cooled down a few degrees after a cold front recently passed over us.

Friday and Saturday will be the weather we have all been waiting for! All eyes are on the line of storms now located along the I-20 corridor. "New rainfall amounts will range from 0.50-1.50" so area waterways will need to be monitored closely given last week's rainfall and many of them already running higher than normal.

It will be windy on Friday, but it will be cooler across the Midlands.

Scattered showers will be with us for much of Monday morning before drying out late this afternoon. Morning showers gave way to a mix of sunshine and clouds during the afternoon. The coverage of rain looks to pick up Monday night through Tuesday. The rest of the area could see some additional showers until the front moves through late Wednesday night.

As we end next week, there will be another cold front that will bring some rain for Thursday, Friday and possibly Saturday. Thursday presents the best opportunity for widespread rain this week. Highs should be in the lower 60s. Temperatures will also continue to warm up.
