Former Panthers OG Andrew Norwell Expected To Sign With Jacksonville

Former Carolina Panthers offensive guard Andrew Norwell is expected to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to multiple reports.

The Jaguars extended a contract offer that would make Norwell the highest-paid guard in league history with a five-year, $66.5 million deal including $30 million guaranteed.

The NFL rumors have been swirling around free agency, especially the future of offensive guard Andrew Norwell and where he will play in 2018.

The Panthers placed a second-round tender on the 6-foot-6, 325-pound Norwell before last season, guaranteeing him $2.75 million. It was known that the Panthers couldn't retain Norwell, and many assumed Norwell was bound for NY to reunite with Dave Gettleman, the former Panthers GM who signed him in free agency after he went undrafted in 2014. He spent the first four years of his career in Carolina.

As Stapleton points out, Norwell joined the Panthers in 2014 as an undrafted free agent. For his National Football League career as a whole, Robinson has recorded 202 receptions for 2,848 yards and 22 touchdowns while already appearing in 43 regular-season games atop the highest level.

San Francisco last season allowed 43 sacks, tied for the seventh most in the NFL.
