Buffalo Bills trade former Georgia tackle Cordy Glenn to Cincinnati Bengals

Buffalo Bills trade former Georgia tackle Cordy Glenn to Cincinnati Bengals

Buffalo will take over Cincinnati's spot at 12th overall while the Bengals fall back to number 21.

The Buffalo Bills have been among the busier teams, and they made another bold move on Monday, reportedly trading left tackle Cordy Glenn to the Cincinnati Bengals, per ESPN's Josina Anderson.

The Cardinals are 15th in the first round, so a quarterback-needy team once again moves ahead of them. They have the 12th and 22nd picks in the first round, plus another two picks each in the second and third rounds of the draft. It all starts this week with free agency and the draft next month.

Addressing one of their biggest holes with this trade, the Bengals can now be more "picky" with their first-round pick.

The 28-year-old Glenn has been Buffalo's starting left tackle since entering the National Football League as a second-round pick in 2012 but a foot injury limited him to six games last season. This season will be the last in Glenn's deal before Cincinnati could potentially release him without taking a massive cap hit.

However, with the New York Jets and Denver Broncos also possibly needing to trade up to grab a quarterback, the Colts may be in a prime position for a bidding war that now includes the Bills. Buffalo also traded their starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor on Friday to the Cleveland Browns.

This trade gives both teams some room to make moves this offseason. The money in 2018 is high for Glenn, but the ability to cut all ties if he doesn't work out after one year brings some comfort as well. The Bengals lost Andrew Whitworth to Los Angeles in free agency and weren't able to replace him with Cedric Ogbuehi or Jake Fisher last season.
