Sridevi, 55, dies of heart attack in Dubai

The actress passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest in Dubai.

Sanjay Kapoor, brother-in-law of Sridevi has confirmed that she has died.

According to sources, the English Vinglish actress was in Dubai for a wedding and suffered a cardiac arrest.

The news has come as a shock for Bollywood.

Sridevi was last seen in Sajal Aly and Adnan Siddiqui's Bollywood debut, Mom, which also started Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.




Well-wishers are now rushing to Sridevi's house in Mumbai to be by her elder daughter Janhvi's side.

Here are some of tweets paying tribute to the actor whose sudden passing has left a hole in the Bollywood landscape.

"Yes, it is true that Sridevi passed away".

Sridevi has worked in over 270 films Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada movie industry before making her bollywood debut. The government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, in 2013.
