More rain moving in

More rain moving in

A warm front will lift north through the state Tuesday night into Wednesday, followed by a cold front that will sweep through late Thursday.

The National Weather Service calls for a mostly cloudy and warm day with a high of 78 degrees.

This last round of steady rain will finally exit to the east in the early afternoon as the low pressure center tracks to the northeast, and the associated cold front finally moves through.

More Rain? Yes, more rain: Muscle Shoals has now picked up about 10 inches of rain in the month of February. With saturated ground and gusts winds possible, we could run into the issue of downed trees. Most of it being in our southeastern counties. With the warmth comes more rain though. After the front passes, showers and storms will be ending and skies will start to clear. Progressively warming to the 70s, with plenty of sunshine on Tuesday afternoon. Montgomery, Prattville and the rest of The River Region in the mid to upper 60s. We will have to monitor the evolution closely, but current guidance is suggesting rain (right now. that could change!). A few of those storms may be strong to severe.

Friday and next weekend is looking spectacular and seasonable with sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 60s. Tonight there is the potential for some storms to become severe.

Another frontal system will bring a few rounds of rain Wednesday and Thursday. Highs remain in the low 70s.
