Samsung Galaxy S9 to shoot 1080p videos at 480fps

Samsung Galaxy S9 to shoot 1080p videos at 480fps

About a month ahead the launch of the new flagship models at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, Samsung has revealed its new ISOCELL family that come with technologies such as Tetracell and Smart WDR to enhance image results. The off-center fingerprint scanner from previous year is now centrally located until the camera. As the date of the unveiling is coming closer, more rumors and leaks are being cited on various online platforms.

Samsung is known for making top-notch screens and the South Korean giant never disappoints when it comes to the display on its smartphones.

A8+ is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM. Meanwhile, the phone will also come with a 5.5-inch display and it will have 720p HD resolution. The ISOCELL Dual should enable dual camera configurations to effects like background blur and optical zoom.

According to a recent report both the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will come with a fast charging feature. Not as high as Sony's sensor (960 FPS @ 720p), but a big step forward compared say the camera now used in the Galaxy S8.

The image is showing the Samsung Galaxy S8-series Beta update. S8 has Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 835 (for United States and Chinese markets) and Samsung's Exynos 8895 (global variant).

If the tagline for the Galaxy S9 line is truly "Film Your Story As You Intended", it's pretty clear that the main draw of the phones is the photo and video capabilities.

It would be very odd timing for Samsung to release this now and not include this in the new Galaxy S9 series. However, the upgraded processors will help S9 charge the battery faster: it can reportedly charge 50% in 15 minutes. It was one of the most buzzed-about phones at the show.

While details indicate the main objective of the technology is to help decrease the thickness and weight of smartphones, it may also be connected to how in-display fingerprint scanners work on Samsung devices.

On S9, Samsung moved the fingerprint scanner a little so that it's just below the rear camera.
