Michael Douglas Accuser Speaks Out: 'He Thought He Could Humiliate Me'

Douglas also had no problem bragging about his extramarital affairs, Braudy said, including one alleged fling with his "Romancing the Stone" co-star Kathleen Turner. Douglas vehemently insisted that the story was false (other than a claim about his use of colorful language) and that he wouldn't wait "to be the villain in a narrative".

Braudy alleged that, during her employment under Douglas in the 1980s, the actor subjected her to profane comments and masturbated in front of her.

"I peered at him and saw he'd inserted both hands into his unzipped trousers". I realized to my horror that he was rubbing his private parts.

"He would repeat things that he said to Jack Nicholson, who he loved to talk to on the phone about such things as the 50 slang words for his private parts", she said.

Braudy credits the post-Weinstein reckoning for convincing her to finally tell her story publicly. "My mother was an actress, and I myself married to an actress and have been supportive of this movement wholeheartedly, through all my years". He told Deadline, "I don't know where to begin".

His wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, meanwhile, shared her support for Douglas earlier this week while also supporting the anti-harassment movement #MeToo. "I can not elaborate on something that's so very personal to him". And a legitimate trade publication is going to try and print this story?

She told three people about the incident: Michael Wolff (who wrote the controversial book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House), former Newsweek journalist Lynn Povich and film editor Joseph Weintraub, who now lives with Braudy, according to THR. Braudy maintains that she kept records of all of the inappropriate incidents with Douglas and has a long paper trail. They are author Michael Wolff, former Newsweek journalist Lynn Povich and Joseph Weintraub, a film editor who now lives with Braudy.

Braudy said she did her best "to shrug off the cloud of sexual aggression that Michael reflexively emitted". She was sacked not long after that. Another time, she said, he joked to a group of agents in her presence that he assumed she was "a screamer" in bed. She previously served as Vice President of East Coast Productions at Warner Bros. before working for Douglas, and has been hired to write screenplays for Martin Scorsese, Jerry Bruckheimer and Francis Ford Coppola.

During a one-on-one script meeting in his apartment, which functioned as his part-time office at the time, Braudy claimed Douglas masturbated in front of her.

"He thought he was the king of the world and that he could humiliate me without any repercussions", she said.

Braudy added, "I realised he thought he could do anything he wanted because he was so much more powerful than I was".

"Michael unzipped his chinos and I registered something amiss". She immediately got up and ran out of the apartment towards the elevator while Michael then chased after her, saying, "Hey, thank you, you're good". He fired her six months later.

Douglas got ahead of the allegations before they appeared in public, describing them to The Hollywood Reporter as "an unfortunate and complete fabrication". "Suggesting so does a true disservice to those who have actually endured sexual harassment and intimidation".

He pointed out that Braudy is an "established member of the women's movement" who didn't speak up at the time because there was nothing to speak up about. "And I was very scared", she said.
