Arctic Blast: Wind chill advisory returns Friday night

Arctic Blast: Wind chill advisory returns Friday night

The wind chill could make temperatures feel as low as 10- to 20-degrees below zero throughout Saturday. Areas to the south of 8 Mile are in a Wind Chill ADVISORY for the same time.

Wind Chill Warnings in effect tonight through Sunday morning for all of western Mass.

Environment Canada is advising people to check on older family, friends and neighbours, and to keep pets inside. The wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.

Hamilton has been hammered with cold weather warnings since the end of last month.

This cold snap will break by Sunday.

It's one thing to battle the cold, it's another thing to battle the cold with a gusty wind that's pushing 40mph. After that, temperatures warm to around the 20 degree mark for Sunday afternoon under mostly sunny skies. A cold front will bring light snow showers by Monday evening through Tuesday morning, with not much accumulation expected for now.

Sunday brings another mostly sunny day, but not almost as brutally cold. The good news... we will see sunshine all day today! Friday morning's wind chill, which will be about minus 18 when children are supposed to be waiting at bus stops, might cause local school districts to at least call for a delay.
