Netflix renews 'Stranger Things' for season three

Netflix renews 'Stranger Things' for season three

Stranger Things fans rejoice! "So hold tight baby darts - season 3 is officially happening", Netflix US tweeted Friday.

The series' beloved stars, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown and Caleb McLaughlin, among others, are all returning for the upcoming season.

It's no shock that Netflix will be returning to Hawkins, Indiana, the site of one of the online network's biggest show. If all goes according to plan, season three will be the midpoint of the entire series. The brothers confirmed they would like to end the series on the fourth season instead of dragging out the storyline and stretching the characters' personal arcs.

Take a look at the final trailer for Stranger Things 2 below.

"Last year, we had a lot of little cliffhangers at the end of the season".

It's unknown what the plot line will be for Stranger Things Season 3. The brothers said to expect another time jump when we pick up with the new season, similar to that of Season 2's. Straight up. STRANGER THINGS is pure fun. A+.

"I think there's going to come a point where why aren't these people leaving Hawkins?" "They've shut the door on the Mind Flayer, but not only is it still there in the Upside Down, it's very much aware of the kids, and particularly Eleven".

Season one was released in July 2016 and season two followed over a year later in October 2017. Still, the overwhelming popularity of Stranger Things (it's a 94 on Rotten Tomatoes, earned five Emmys for S1, and warmed even our sequel-skeptical hearts this fall) made this a matter of when and not if.
