'Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition' coming next year with new features

'Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition' coming next year with new features

The backlash was enough to prompt Capcom to commit to "completeness" in future releases a few months later, and while the newly-announced Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition probably isn't a directly result of that pledge, it does fit its promise rather nicely.

Arcade Mode - choose from six different paths themed after classic Street Fighter games. Now, it is all set to get an Arcade Edition, which will include all post-release content, new gameplay elements and content form both season 1 and season 2 of the original game. If they complete all four challenges every month then they will receive a special premium costume that's exclusive to this mode. The package also includes Extra Battle Mode, a second V-Trigger for all characters, and a completely redesigned user interface including colors, menu items, effects, and more.

The DLC characters can still be unlocked for free - even now - in the base version of Street Fighter V, but it takes time. more time than most casual players have.

Will you be getting back into the fight when Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition launches on January 16, 2018? Releasing multiple different versions of the same game is a move that fighting fans became very exhausted of, and when Capcom announced that there would only be one version of Street Fighter 5 it was met with universal praise. That same listing suggests its release date is January 16 next year.

Game company Bandai Namco also announced that their next "Tekken" World Finals will be held outside of Japan for the first time.

For most of the 1990s, fighting games were arcade games, with Street Fighter II patenting the much-imitated arcade mode formula of fighting increasingly hard AI opponents until your run culminated with a boss. Taito stated that they have no current plans to release the game into arcades. Current owners of Street Fighter V will get access to the new modes and V-Triggers as a free update, which is better still.

The road for Capcom has been rougher than expected as of late thanks to an underwhelming start for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite and the underperforming Street Fighter 5.

Original story: Street Fighter 5 will get its long-awaited Arcade mode in early 2018, according to an Amazon leak.
