Tougher than ever, 90th National Spelling Bee gets underway

Today, there will be two rounds of oral spelling on stage.

Three students from across Washington state will compete this week.

But the app is not available this year.

For this year's competitors, Tuesday was all about surviving the written test, perhaps the most nerve-racking part of the bee.
