Spicer Won't Comment on His White House Future

Despite weeks of reports that heads would roll at the White House and that an angry President Trump was fed up with his team, there will be no major staff shake-up in the West Wing, a top Trump adviser said Wednesday.

"I'm not sure the press secretary thing is something I'm dying to do", Ingraham told Steve Doocy on Fox News.

Ivanka Trump talks to Sean Spicer at the White House. I think the briefing is one aspect of what we do.

And while Spicer has cut back on the number of televised press briefings, he is still on the payroll as both communications director and chief spokesman.

"I'm not hinting. I'll tell you about it over a very short period of time", Trump said at the time. "We're here really early in the morning and really late at night available to all your questions, whether in person or over email".

"We're going to do what we can to communicate our message, we have tremendous respect for the First Amendment and your ability to do your job and report and seek out ideas", Mr Spicer said.

The final report followed the US intelligence community's initial statement in October 2016 that claimed senior Russian officials directed the hacking of Democratic Party organizations during the 2016 presidential campaign.

As you can imagine, numerous journalists who cover the White House press briefings aren't happy about being banned from recording them.

This came after he declined to comment to Politico by using the oldest trick in the book: Saying, "I can't hear you", and abruptly hanging up.

The Russia-related story Mr. Trump has flat-out denied is whether there was any connection between Russians and his campaign, an investigation he has repeatedly decried on Twitter as a "witch hunt".

"You're whole job is speaking for the administration", Colbert said. "He's being promoted to White House communications director, which means he's leading a search for his own replacement".

President Trump has long considered making major staffing changes within the White House, the Associated Press reported, and reports have constantly swirled of top advisers being potentially replaced.
